Rutgers University hosts its version of Sakai, the collaborative learning environment, for roughly 50,000 people. The open source software is developed by many participating institutions around the world. It takes careful planning, testing, and coordination amongst those in the community to continue to deliver a stable and reliable product. This talk will cover Rutgers’ implementation of Sakai and what it takes to plan for upgraded versions, deploy, and support them.

Bio / Expertise
As Project Manager for the Office of Instructional & Research Technology, my primary function is overseeing and coordinating the development, maintenance, and support of Rutgers’ implementation of Sakai, the collaborative learning environment. Working with a team of developers and testers to ensure that we fully test, document, and support feature enhancements and new features.
