The Way We Think: How Technology is Changing the Way We Get Ideas, Share Them, and Act on Them

Abstract:
The way we think: How technology is changing the way we get ideas, share them, and act on them: as computers have become smaller and smaller and we carry them around all day long, we use them in increasingly intimate ways. What does this mean for the way we think? In this talk, Clive Thompson — author of ‘Smarter Than You Think: How Technology is Changing Our Lives for the Better’ — discusses the rise of ‘public thinking’, new literacies, ambient awareness, and, drawing on his own experience using Google Glass, wearable computing.
