Breakout Session

Inventory Tracking and PC Management

Track: User Services

Breakout Session VII
Fri. 12:00pm–12:55pm

Abstract
Whenever we needed an inventory report on desktop and laptop computers, we had to send people going around to visually count them because we could not completely trust the information we have on hand. Finding out which computers with particular software was another headache. A better solution was needed to keep better track of inventory and assets accurately and in real-time, as well as help us to monitor and manage software install and licenses. This presentation may help others who have been having the same issues we had, and assist in thinking about a solution from a number of angles. We will discuss how we came about selecting the right product for our needs; how this solution is used inter-departmentally, and how it has been advantageous to our department and the school.
