Abstract

With the perpetual changing landscape of IT services, needs, and staffing, how do we prepare our organization for the shift in skills and priorities?  This session will focus on the steps Princeton University’s Office of Information Technology went through defining a Direction and Priorities Roadmap, business plans for focus areas identified in the roadmap, change management issues and the workforce planning strategies we are embarking on.   We will review our challenges along with our progress and share lessons learned and desired outcomes.

This session will include and an open discussion along with the presentation so we may hear how our peers are addressing the talent management needs for their organizations.

Stern, Nadine

Bio
Nadine Stern is the Associate CIO for Operations and Planning in the Office of Information Technology at Princeton University. She is responsible for planning, strategic communication, technology consulting services, OIT budget and finance, and organizational effectiveness and strategic initiatives. Nadine is active in Educause having served on the Ryland Fellowship Committee, the Mid Atlantic Regional Conference Program Committee, and AGEISS (Advisory Group for Enterprise Information Systems and Services) serving as chair of that Group in the 2006-2007 year, the Current Issues Committee, the EQ review Board and the 2012 program Committee.  She is currently the Chair for the Educause Connect program. She is also active in NJEDge, having served on the Board and on several annual program committees.

 

Milnes, John        

Bio
I am the Director of Organizational Effectiveness and Strategic Initiatives and have approximately 11 1/2 years of higher education administrative experience.  I have been with Princeton University for 4 1/2 years.  In my role I am primarily responsible for providing leadership and hands on support for all staff development and employee relations initiatives.  I am also responsible for leading the organizational support and administrative operations of OIT, including IT training and documentation services, facilities and space management, conferencing and collaboration technologies.

 

Guarnieri, Janice 

Bio
Janice has 21 years of experience with Princeton University.  In her role, she oversees a staff of highly professional training and documentation staff and is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive technology based training curriculum for University staff as well as overseeing and implementing the Central IT staff’s talent management strategy.
