Data Management: Metadata, Preservation, and Access

Track: Data Management

Abstract
This presentation covers the very relevant issue of data management plans and their place in research and academic libraries. ACRL devoted an entire pre-conference session on data management and data information literacy, illustrating the timeliness and importance of this issue. Major research funding agencies require supplementary data management plans as part of grant applications; however, many researchers are not familiar with what data management is and the advantages and benefits of completing one.  This presentation will outline the meaning and advantages of creating a data management plan.
